Running with Scissors and Drinking with Child

Gwyneth Paltrow is cast in a new film scheduled to be released this year called "Running with Scissors". The movie is based on the true story of a boy whose mother (a poet with delusions of Anne Sexton) gave him away to be raised by her unorthodox psychiatrist who bore a striking resemblance to Santa Claus. I am not sure if this is a sequel to "Shallow Hal" or "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrrow", but we at BionicBuddha wish Gwyneth every success in her new project.

Although Gwyneth's discipline in selecting Hollywood roles will never make headlines, her lack of discipline while she was carrying her second child has recently attracted some attention. According to her publicist, while she was pregnant with Moses Bruce Anthony Martin (at least she didn't call him Apple 2 or Ipod) she got her natal vitamins by drinking Guinness beer for the iron content. I am not sure how she justified the wine binges, but perhaps a stay a visit to the Betty Ford Clinic would make for a worthwhile trip. If she wasn't drunk when she conceived her 2 kids, I would bet that she might have been under the influence of something when she named them.

In a recent episode of Mostly Weird News, Eric discusses a strange drink which is appropriately called the "sour toe cocktail". Anyone who hasn't already seen Gwyneth's performance in "Sheakespeare in Love", might consider consuming a half dozen of these beverages prior to renting the DVD.

Funny, but as someone whose iron levels dip too low too often, I wonder if Gwenny knows there are supplements for that.

And her poor kids, man.

I heard they actually give Guiness to mothers that have recently delivered to replenish the nutrients that they need.

Gwyneth's name has hit my blog a couple times the past week as well...

with the movie running w/ scissors and w/ the birth of moses martin...

I would say that Runnings not a sequel to sky captian or shallow hal...remember she was in the Royal Tannenbuam's as a crazy there, and she's certainly crazy in running w/ scissors.

Interesting. I had the previlige to come face to face with Gwyneth on Union Street in San Francisco at the time I hated her and her movies but now I kind of dig her.
