The Grinch Who Stole Thanksgiving
Billy Dee Williams can't bring himself to ever celebrate Thanksgiving. He told newspaper reporters, "It was the arrival of the Europeans which disrupted the entire Native American civilization and I think that was a tragedy." His high moral principles would likely be more credible if he wasn't well known for his appearances in advertisements for Colt 45, a low-cost brand of malt liquor. Before he cashed his pay cheques from the malt liquor manufacturer, I wonder if he ever thought about what impact alcohol had on the Native American civilization? Williams has also appeared in several commercials for Psychic Readers Network. It is too bad, they couldn't give him some career advice for accepting a role in Undercover Brother...You mess with da fro, you gotta go.

I won't stand for any disparaging remarks against the first brother in outer space, Lando Calrissian.

My mom always thought that Billy Dee Williams was dreamy.
And Rojelio, I think you are right. I think he was on That 70's Show. Good call!

I'm part Native American and part English (among other things). I'm so conflicted when it comes to Thanksgiving. Who's right and who's wrong? Or is it just the way it is?

You're comparing the effects of Colt 45 malt liquor to the slaughter, capture, and imprisonment of thousands of Native Americans?

I have been in various thanksgiving discussion with people in the blogosphere. Personally, I can't ever have thanksgiving without thinking of genocide and horror. At the same time, it is a time when you get to be with amily and friends and celebrate. I guess as long as you acknowledge the history you go on with things. Now if only we would stop celebrating Columbus Day (to me tat is even more closely tied with the whole genocide thing) then we may be onto something.
